Data Kiosk is Amazon’s reporting API for Seller Central. It replaces the legacy Reports API for analytics datasets and answers report queries asynchronously, so its reports are not something you can watch in a dashboard. SourceMedium runs the report for you, at least once a day, and lands the rows in your warehouse, where they stay. This is a separate connection from Amazon Seller Central, which brings orders into your dashboards. Data Kiosk reads through your own Selling Partner app rather than a SourceMedium authorization.
You connect data sources yourself in SourceMedium. Sign in to your SourceMedium account, open your store, then in the Data sources section click Connect data source and choose the platform. You need an Editor or Admin role on the store. If you have view-only access, ask an admin or editor on your team to connect it.Once it is connected, what happens next covers first-sync timing and what each connection status means.

How to connect

SourceMedium connects to Data Kiosk with the Login with Amazon credentials of a private Selling Partner app that you register and authorize in your own Seller Central account.
1

Register a private Selling Partner app

In Seller Central, open Apps & Services → Develop Apps and register a private app. Give it the Inventory and Order Tracking role; Data Kiosk reports that draw on Brand Analytics need that role as well. Amazon’s guide: Registering your application.
2

Self-authorize the app

From the app’s row, choose Authorize and authorize it for your own selling account. Amazon shows a refresh token once. Copy it together with the app’s LWA client ID and client secret. Amazon’s guide: Self authorization.
3

Add the credentials in SourceMedium

Find Amazon Data Kiosk in the connector picker and click Connect. Paste the client ID, the client secret, and the refresh token into their fields.
4

Confirm it is connected

SourceMedium exchanges the refresh token for an access token before saving anything. If Amazon rejects it, the page says which value to check.
Raw data only. Data Kiosk reports land as warehouse tables. They are not modeled in sm_transformed_v2, dashboards, or Uni yet.
SourceMedium only ever reads from your connected platforms. It does not create, change, or delete anything, so create the key with read-only access wherever the platform offers it. Treat it like a password: keep it confidential and avoid sharing it over email or in spreadsheets. If the credential is rotated or revoked, follow this guide’s connection method to update SourceMedium.

What data syncs

The Manage Inventory (MLC) report: one row per day, FNSKU, fulfillment center, and disposition, with the quantities Amazon reports for that slice.

Notes

  • The report is a daily snapshot. SourceMedium checks for it every six hours, so a day’s rows appear within hours of Amazon producing them. Amazon throttles Data Kiosk queries and does not queue them, so the connection is not intended for intraday inventory.
  • The last seven days are re-pulled on every run, so late corrections from Amazon replace the earlier rows for those days.
  • Historical rows back-fill from the earliest date Amazon returns for the report.
  • The connection reads the North America marketplaces by default. If you sell in Europe or the Far East, tell your account manager when you connect so the right regional endpoint is used.
  • If you revoke or regenerate the app’s refresh token, reconnect with the new value. SourceMedium stops the sync rather than retrying a revoked token.
