Google Ads spend, performance, and conversions flow into SourceMedium alongside your other ad platforms.

How to connect

SourceMedium connects to Google Ads with a one-click authorization. Sign in with a Google user that can already see the ads accounts you want SourceMedium to read, either directly or under a manager account. You do not paste customer IDs; you pick the accounts in SourceMedium after authorizing.
You connect data sources yourself in SourceMedium. Sign in to your SourceMedium account, open your store, then in the Data sources section click Connect data source and choose the platform. You need an Editor or Admin role on the store. If you have view-only access, ask an admin or editor on your team to connect it.Once it is connected, what happens next covers first-sync timing and what each connection status means.
1

Start the Google Ads connection

Find Google Ads in the connector picker and click Connect. The Connect Google Ads page opens on the Authorize step.
2

Authorize with Google Ads

Click Authorize with Google Ads. SourceMedium sends you to Google in the same tab to approve the access it requests, then brings you straight back. SourceMedium reads your campaigns and reporting only; it does not make changes in Google Ads. If the authorization does not finish, the page explains why and offers Try authorizing Google Ads again.
3

Select accounts

Back in SourceMedium, choose the ad accounts you want SourceMedium to read, then save.
4

Confirm it is connected

The flow finishes on Done and the connection shows Connected. SourceMedium begins syncing.
Limiting access happens before you authorize, not on the consent screen. The Google Ads API publishes a single OAuth scope that covers reading and writing, and Google offers no read-only alternative to request, so the consent screen will describe broader access than SourceMedium uses. SourceMedium only reads your campaigns and reporting and never changes anything in Google Ads.Google Ads scopes access at the account level instead, through the role each user holds on an account. If you want the connection constrained at Google’s end as well, authorize with a Google user whose access to those ads accounts is read-only.

What data syncs

  • Campaign, ad group, and ad performance, including Performance Max at campaign grain
  • Conversions split by conversion action at both ad and campaign level
  • Search-term and keyword performance only if SourceMedium enables those reports for your account
