Follow this integration guide to connect your TikTok data to SourceMedium.

Requirements

  • Admin access to your TikTok Business account

Steps

  1. Invite SourceMedium as a member to your TikTok Business account
    1. From your TikTok Business account, navigate to Users > Members > Select Invite Member
    2. Add integrations@sourcemedium.com as a new member and select Standard access settings. This will send an email to inviting SourceMedium to connect your data
  1. Once you have approved Standard access for SourceMedium to your Business Center:
    1. Go to your Business Center and click Ad Account under Assets
    2. Select the member (SourceMedium) for whom you want to edit permissions to ad account
    3. Toggle the permissions for ad account
      1. Select only the Analyst role
    4. Click Save.

Data nuances and limitations

TikTok Ads reporting can include multiple campaign types in rpt_ad_performance_daily.
GMV Max campaigns can have spend without clicks or impressions. When calculating CPC, CTR, CPM, or other click/impression-based metrics for ordinary TikTok Ads, exclude ad_campaign_type = 'gmv_max'.
  • TikTok landing-page campaigns generally include spend, clicks, and impressions.
  • GMV Max campaigns can include spend while clicks and impressions are unavailable.
  • Filtering only to source_system = 'tiktok' can blend these campaign types together and make CPC, CTR, and CPM misleading.
