TikTok Ads spend and performance data flows into SourceMedium alongside your other ad platforms.

How to connect

SourceMedium connects to TikTok Ads with a one-click authorization. You authorize TikTok Ads yourself, so there is no API key to create and no setup link to wait for.
You connect data sources yourself in SourceMedium. Sign in to your SourceMedium account, open your store, then in the Data sources section click Connect data source and choose the platform. You need an Editor or Admin role on the store. If you have view-only access, ask an admin or editor on your team to connect it.Once it is connected, what happens next covers first-sync timing and what each connection status means.
1

Start the TikTok Ads connection

Find TikTok Ads in the connector picker and click Connect. The Connect TikTok Ads page opens on the Authorize step.
2

Authorize with TikTok Ads

Click Authorize with TikTok Ads. SourceMedium sends you to TikTok Ads in the same tab to approve the access it requests, then brings you straight back. SourceMedium reads your advertising reporting only; it does not make changes in TikTok Ads. If the authorization does not finish, the page explains why and offers Try authorizing TikTok Ads again.
3

Select accounts

Back in SourceMedium, choose the ad accounts you want SourceMedium to read, then save.
4

Confirm it is connected

The flow finishes on Done and the connection shows Connected. SourceMedium begins syncing.
Limiting access happens before you authorize, not on the consent screen. TikTok’s authorization screen lists every permission approved for the requesting app, and the token records only what you actually granted. SourceMedium only reads your advertising reporting and never changes anything in TikTok Ads.TikTok scopes access at the ad account level instead. Its Analyst permission can view ads, performance, and reports but cannot create or edit ads, manage audiences, or change account settings. If you want the connection constrained at TikTok’s end as well, authorize with a member who holds Analyst access to the ad accounts you are connecting.

Data nuances and limitations

TikTok Ads reporting can include multiple campaign types.
GMV Max campaigns can have spend without clicks or impressions. Separate GMV Max from other TikTok Ads campaigns when calculating CPC, CTR, CPM, or other click/impression-based metrics.
  • TikTok Ads landing-page campaigns generally include spend, clicks, and impressions.
  • GMV Max campaigns can include spend while clicks and impressions are unavailable.
  • Blending all TikTok Ads campaign types together can make CPC, CTR, and CPM misleading.
