| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | The connection is authorized and no issue needs your attention. | Nothing to do. |
| Extracting | The connection is authorized, and SourceMedium is preparing data extraction. | Nothing to do. SourceMedium will update the status when extraction is ready. |
| Syncing | SourceMedium is actively loading or backfilling data. | Nothing to do. Check again after the sync finishes. |
| Setting up | The connection exists, but a setup step is not complete. | Open the connection page; it shows the next step if one is yours. |
| Validating | A credential was saved but has not been verified against the source yet. | Wait for validation to finish; it becomes Connected on success. |
| Degraded | Data is still arriving, but more slowly than expected. | Do not reconnect. SourceMedium monitors this status. |
| Needs attention | The source needs attention, but reconnecting it yourself is not the next step. | Open the connection for details. SourceMedium will show whether it is handling the issue or needs information from you. |
| Needs reconnection | SourceMedium cannot use the current credentials, or setup was not completed. | Open the connection and use its reconnect or setup action. |
| Idle | The source is not expected to deliver data now, or another connection covers it. | Nothing to do unless you expected this source to be active. |
| Disconnected | The connection was deactivated and is not syncing. | Reconnect the source if you want its data flowing again. |
