Tableau's hosted server signs a Tableau Cloud user in and puts the team's workbooks, views, published data sources, Prep flows, and Pulse metrics within reach: find the dashboard, pull the view's data, or query the source behind it. Pulse metrics come back with their recent insight, and the same open-source server runs self-hosted against Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server.
