# What data security practices are in place at SourceMedium?

> How SourceMedium protects your data: encryption, US-based storage, PII handling, role-based access, and deletion on request

* Personally identifiable information is hashed or encrypted in transit and at rest.
* Your data is stored in a US-based warehouse.
* PII is not shown in the dashboard by default. Ask us if your team needs an exception.
* Access to your workspace and data is limited by role. Warehouse access follows the same roles: see [Roles & permissions](/docs/product-tours/roles-and-permissions). Dashboards are shared by whoever owns the Looker Studio report, covered in [Giving dashboard access to a teammate](/docs/help-center/faq/account-management-faqs/how-do-i-give-dashboard-access-to-a-teammate).
* Only SourceMedium's internal engineering team can access customer datasets. External contractors work only with hashed datasets.
* If we reasonably suspect a security incident affecting your data, we notify you in writing within 24 hours.

For security questionnaires or anything not covered here, [open a support request from your workspace](/docs/product-tours/get-support).
